Beauty Must Haves

    Every girl knows she has those few go-to products that she truly believes she cannot live without. It’s these items that she packs first when going on a trip, the ones she keeps repurchasing, and the ones she may even write about in a blog post. These signature products have become staple items in my beauty routine. Each one of these products I currently use and LOVE and I'm excited to share them with you. 

1. The first one I want to share is the Argon Oil of Morocco extra strength dry shampoo by OGX. If you know me, you know that I can go up to four days without washing my hair. I have naturally thick hair and a lot of it. So, for me to go 4-5 days without washing my hair is no big deal. Thanks to this dry shampoo, I'm able to style dirty hair for days. Over the years, I have gone through the trial and error process of finding the perfect one. Not only does this dry shampoo leave your hair smelling amazing, it also does not have that sticky or coarse feeling like most dry shampoos tend to give. And, the greatest part is you can pick it up at your local Target for under $7.

2. My next must have is a product by GK Hair. I recently came across this brand thanks to my hair stylist. She would use this brand on my hair and convinced me to try them out for myself. Once I started, I was hooked! Since my hair is naturally wavy/curly, I have always struggled with my dry and coarse-ish hair, until now! The GK Leave in Conditioner Cream is the best leave-in treatment I have come across for myself. This product hydrates and detangles hair without weighing it down. It allows me to create an effortless blow-out and leaves my hair feeling super soft. Just simply run a quarter-size amount onto wet hair, comb it through and either let it air dry or blow dry as usual. This product can be purchased through a professional salon or on the GK Hair website.

3. In continuation with the GK Hair brand, my next must have product is the GK serum. Once your hair is styled, pump a dime size amount into your hand and work this product through your hair focusing on the ends. I use this daily to reshape my curls and eliminate frizz! I love this stuff and it smells like magic! This product has helped me to stop using as much heat on my hair everyday. I just run the serum though my hair to freshen it up in the morning. Takes me 5 minutes TOPS! With my long work days, I do not want to spend more time than that on my hair in the mornings!

4. Number 4 on my must haves is a skin care product. Tretinoin is topical cream prescribed to me by my dermatologist. This product is available in different strengths and forms, but mine is a cream at only 0.025%. Tretinoin is a form of Vitamin A that helps speed up and renew the skin cell turnover. This creates new cells faster by providing new skin to create a smoother complexion. Since my insurance covers most of this medication, I have been blessed to only have to spend $7 for this product. It’s normally over $150. If you hold good insurance and your dermatologist sees it necessary, you may be able to get a hold of this medication as well. You will never use another skincare product again. I simply remove my makeup, wash my face with a simple cleanser, and put a very small amount of the cream all over once a day. It has been life changing! AND, it helps with fine lines a wrinkles. That’s a plus for me!

5. Number 5 on the list is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. This is a perfect product for my daily living. This setting powder is lightweight, which is my favorite part and it is translucent so you aren’t adding any color to your face, only helping to set it for the day and taking away the shine. This is a little bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it. I only have to repurchase it every 3-4 months. It lasts a long time!

6. My final product is my newest discovery, so I had to add it to the list. The OUAI Texurizing Hair Spray is the perfect lightweight hair spray that builds incredible volume. I am not a fan of sticky, heavy hairsprays, but the QUAI allows you to run your fingers through your hair and still achieve all day volume. But the BEST part is that it smells amazing. Your hair and significant other will thank you. :)
